After undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment, the Grosvenor Hotel, operated by glh Hotels, will open its doors on 10th December as the all-new Amba Hotel Grosvenor.
This will be the third hotel in the Amba Hotels portfolio, which includes the Amba Hotel Charing Cross and the Amba Hotel Marble Arch. These upper 4-star hotels in iconic central London locations have all been carefully designed to deliver a modern experience whilst bringing to life the character of the properties complemented by high quality, uncomplicated service.
The past year’s refurbishment of The Grosvenor has coincided with extensive customer research undertaken to understand the wants and needs of hotel guests. Insights from the data revealed that visitors are seeking authentic experiences in luxury accommodation, from brands they can trust. Whilst lovingly preserving the history and heritage, the hotel’s new look and feel is sophisticated with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Each element carefully considered and designed around creating a truly inspiring and seamless guest experience.

Further on-site facilities will meet the needs of executives using the hotel as a personal business base or event location, with the new suite of meeting and events spaces being revealed later in Spring 2020.

On Monday evening, Didzis Neimanis, Head Concierge at Amba Hotel Charing Cross, won the Rising Star of The Year Award at the Business Travel Awards 2019. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Didzis has high ambitions and a passion for the concierge industry that can’t be matched, and at just 30 years old he is one of the youngest Head Concierges in the country.
Comments from a unanimous board of judges declared; “Didzis Neimanis, it was felt, was an integral part of the travel industry chain, working right at the coalface. The passion and enthusiasm in someone so young really impressed the judges, one of whom summed it up: “I feel he is the epitome of the rising star and is clearly destined for great things.” There was unanimous agreement among his fellow judges.”
Currently, Didzis manages a skilled team of seven concierge staff at Amba Hotel Charing Cross and he is responsible for their in house training and progression. He also shares his skills elsewhere in the industry by regularly participating in hospitality education and lectures at Uxbridge College, as well as being on the committee for Les Clefs d’Or (The Society of the Golden Keys). In addition, Didzis runs his own successful Instagram account @askyourconciergelondon that boasts over 3,700 followers.
